First I have installed over 50 new monitors and I am pretty sure that I understand the basics of installing a monitor. Here is my problem. I just ordered my first flat screen LCD by Vision Pro 19". I am using the LCD with A Neo Geo MV1-B. When the monitor is connected with CGA the monitors says no signal. When I connect to a standard tube monitor everything is fine and the Neo with CGA is fine.

I know you say why not just use a tube monitor, because it won't fit in the cab I am using. I tried the LCD with other boards like Pac, Ms Pac, Defender, Joust. With those board the LCD is working. It noticed when using a working Heavy Barrel I get the same problem, it says no signal. It seems that the pro vision LCD will not work with the NEO and when using the Heavy Barrel Jamma board.

First question, has anyone else noticed any CGA problems and if so what did you do to correct the problem?

Second question. I am considering just using a CGA to VGA converter board. It sucks that I would even have to since the LCD is supposed to work with CGA. The question here is which CGA to VGA converter boards is better quality. Who should I buy it from and which ones to avoid?

LCD answer

I could never get the ones from jammaboards.com to work right. They would slowly make the screen turn pink on three different projects. (sega games I tried to replace projection screens)

That Vision pro should work I used it in a paperboy which is med res and it worked fine. Also in a jungle King and a few ms pacmans i made multicades out of.
Sorry i dont have a better answer. There are a lot of guys here who know their stuff so someone will be able to help.

Update. I just ordered the CGA to VGA converter from paradisearcadeshop and it works fantastic. For what ever reason the Neo Geo does not sync well the the Vision Pro LCD using CGA. But when using the converter the picture works great. Note: When I first turning it on the picture was very jumpy. When I pressed the up and then the down button on the converter board the auto sync kicked in and fixed the problem.
