Hey guys. Never seen anyone review one of these or even talk about them, so here is my attempt. Keep in mind that I am not a professional review-er. Just wanted to share. The video is HD if you wanna view it that way....

Really thanks for this video!!! I don't know how I feel about a LCD, but it does look pretty good. Can you put the monitor in 4:3 aspect mode?

Thanks and Yes you can, but it give you the black bars on the side like a normal LCD and the game's image is only about 14" wide. It's the same effect as any LCD TV.

It is strange that HAPP is selling a 16:9 LCD when almost every arcade game is 4:3.

It is a price thing, there is almost no demand for 4:3 displays anymore, thus it is much cheaper for Happ to use an off the shelf 16:9 LCD component than it is to get 4:3 ones made in small numbers. I imagine new games moving forward will all be 16:9.

After talking with ArcadeRepairTips guys they said all newer games have had LCD's for a little while now. They just upgraded I think over 20 machines with LCD's at their local chucky cheese.
I was even surprised to see all the cherry masters upgraded with LCD's at the local small time bar.

Here it is. It still needs a bit of touch up. Overall it's in great shape. I had to adjust most of the monitor controls to get the image full on the screen, it looks amazing. It's been re-capped and re-fly'd by ctozzi's local repair guy. It has new buttons, joys, lexan, and CPO. It needs a new marquee light and some minor touch up for normal wear and tear and that's it! I don't think is needs it's own resto thread because it doesn't need a lot of work so since it was mentioned here, I'll just post a few pics and call it good. The WWF Wrestlemania will eventually end up next to it. Stay tuned for that!.....

Damn. It looks good! I am jealous of your arcade lol. All the games I eventually want to have. Well the dedicated cabs! And I'm excited about the wwf for you! It looks like a fun game!

Orchid > Undertaker > Uncle Fester < "any sideart". Keep her on the end!

Looks good. Hella expensive but looks good. I wonder how much better it looks vs using one of those vga to cga converters and getting a standard lcd tv(since a 26 inch lcd tv can be had for a lot cheaper).

I did that exact thing and it looks comparable.
26" Vizio LCD TV - $130
CGA to VGA converter - $30

This TV is nice because it automatically turns on when power is applied. So no remote needed. For most installations, the TV will have to be de-cased and somehow installed.

Yea that is exactly what I was thinking. Only problem I see is if a lcd tv is powered off long enough many will power on with a first config screen which will go away after a little bit.

I need to do something like this with a 19 inch monitor. I ordered a cga converter and am going to see how it looks with a spare 19 inch lcd. At least with them though the industrial lcds are only in the 200 dollar range if I decide to go with a new one.
