I am trying to get my virtual pinball completed for the Seattle Pinball & Gameroom show in June. Attached are some pictures of the progress so far...

A ways to go, but exciting none the less...

I would love to see in progress pics, a list of the parts you used, and what your total finished cost is/was. This is a project my father and I want to do so we're just getting ideas in our heads now.

I would be happy to as I am keeping a running total...

I will take pictures of the cabinet as well, and some of the issues I have run into.

Yes Barry, I'm stalking you - following you from SMAC to here as I try to keep up with your progress and encourage you to keep going! ;)

Glad to hear your optimism about getting it ready for the show. I look forward to the progress reports, and I too am very interested in the details as I'd love to do a multi-pin in the future as well.

Keep up the good work!

LOL... Do I need to go get a restraining order against you?

Awesome. I picked up an empty star trek cab and am planning on doing something similar, but prob not as cool. First I need to finish my MAME though.
How big is your playfield screen?

ah... MAME... that was the first project I started... 3+ years ago and its still not done... in its 3rd cabinet though... :D

The playfield is 19" (see pictures) :D (it will be 42", but I have not purchased it yet. figured, why buy it now when I can get a cheaper/better one when I am ready for it.)

Very cool. I've been tossing around a similar idea for awhile, but it's either spend all my cash on building a virtual pin, or do a whole bunch of other projects.

What gfx card? And are you going with the mot-ion plunger kit with the bump/nudge sensor?

I am using an nvidia GTX 250 card.

I am not using the Mot-ion plunger kit as it is expensive and buggy as hell. I am using an accellerometer from Ultimarc and a real plunger.

AWESOME!!!

Please Keep Up UPDATED!!

I hear Hyper-Pin is the way to go!

I would LOVE to see some sort of "Do it Yourself" Write-up on this.

VERY NICE LOOKING THUS FAR!

Because not everyone has room for 500 plus pins. And no, this will not Kill Pin Prices, in fact just the opposite, as they become rarer and rarer to find, people that never got a chance to play them in their original glory will find these emulators, and eventually want the real thing.

Well at least that was the case for me, Sure I had played a few real pins, but after getting my cab built, I had to have a few Real ones.

The good side of this, is I got to get a taste of what was out there, and a taste for what i wanted, ended up getting a TFTC, and working on getting a Simpson Pinball Party, and a TZ real soon.

Two years ago, Even tho I had built a mame machine, I never thought about Pinball before.

So the addiction continues.

Great Job so far Bill, you know I am here for you, always =)

why spend all the money on making this thing when you could just buy a pin.

I can see stuff like this killing pin prices

Several reasons:
- It is going to cost me less one good Pinball
- I don't have room for more than one (or maybe two) pinballs
- I have no idea which pin I would want to buy and this allows me to sample them

Why does anyone use Mame? I have mame, but also several originals...

Bill? BILL?!? Who the hell is Bill? :D :dontknow: :beerchug:

Add me to the list of people who has no room for a Pin and would love to make a Virtual Pinball machine. I have the displays, just no spare high-end gaming rig to power the software.
