Anyone repro ANY of these yet? Are there enough VO owners out there to get someone to print some!? My cab needs them PRETTY bad since mine are incredibly rough and a LOT I've seen out there are missing some (usually the seat decals) all together. Come on guys, this game is listed as "common" on KLOV and there are no NOS parts to be found ANYWHERE around the world (I've kept an eye on Japanese auction sites for years and not seen any), let's do something about it!

Maybe not so much anymore, but I recall that the amusement division of Sega kept replacement parts on hand for some pretty old games. Might try contacting them to see if they have any available?

I tried that before... apparently they don't support it anymore. They sent me to one of their distribution guys who tried to sell me a "fully refurbished" one where they had ripped off EVERY SINGLE STICKER and told me it was how it was supposed to be. LOL

Not to thread jack, but any ones in particular that are more likely to have arcade stuff? I have friends over there who could bid/purchase/receive/remail/etc for me but they don't know a whole lot about games and it seems like a pcb I'm looking for is going to be impossible to find in the states.

Your best bet would be to get Sean at MCS to repro them. He does awesome work. That is, of course, if you can get him to reply to your emails...

Yahoo! Japan Auctions is what I use. If there's any way one of your connections could relay a board to me let me know =P

And what's Sean's email? I'll try that...

Yeah right...I can't GIVE my Virtual On away. In the spring it's getting DESTROYED and I'm selling the parts.

I have 4 working boardsets, audio amps etc. Enough parts to build another twin, just without the cabinets.

Any interest in selling pieces of the cab itself (the back panels of the seat, the panels on the side containing sideart, or just the chairs entirely assuming the art is good)? That's really all I need for mine. I'd also take the thing whole if you're really trying to give it away to save it but I'm sure shipping on it would be killer. What would shipping be?

There's no way I'd ship them, it would likely cost around a grand to do so judging by the $300-$500 cost it seems people incur inside the US for a standard upright.
The artwork on mine are "OK", with a couple dings but more than likely not worth what they would cost to ship.

Ahhh... gotcha. Mine are "OK with a couple dings" too so not much would be accomplished from it anyway.

And AlkalineJay--I'll keep an eye out for you. I'll warn you that they're worthless and a dime a dozen EVERYWHERE YOU AREN'T and you'll go for years without seeing one near you and overpay for it at that... or at least that was my experience. =P Totally worth the effort though, underrated game but fun as hell if you know how to play it and have friends that will fight you. My only tips in picking one:

1. If the controls seem messed up (as in, one direction or more doesn't work at all), don't go for it. Parts on these are hard to come by and the microswitches are hard to come by. I have one extra I can give you but if the controls aren't in great condition overall it would be a big disappointment and a lengthy fix.

2. MAKE SURE THE CABINETS ARE ACTUALLY LINKED FIRST!! Some OPs would clip the optical wire between to make it easier to move and I've been through that, you're looking at a group of people holding each almost-hundred-pound seat up while you frantically use a stick shaped appendage to get the remains of the wire out of the tiny access holes to replace. Nightmarish.

If it wasn't freezing here, I'd start tearing these apart for parts for you guys. I'll wind up with:

4x boardsets
3x complete wiring harnesses
4x Audio Amps
4x Control panels (1 has a broken right stick)
2x Monitor bezels + art

Pretty much all parts from 4(2) units except for 1 wiring harness and artwork/speakers from 2(1).

I'll likely keep one CP though, to make a console/PC useable set of Twin Sticks, the ones for Saturn/Dreamcast are horridly expensive.

I just picked up a Virtual On arcade game myself last week. I'd be interested in parts as well when you're ready. Drop me a pm when you're ready to sell. I need a woofer that goes under one of the seats, one of mine is blown.

Ditto on that, actually, I just had the volume cranked and realized one of mine is blown as well. Crazy. Did we buy from the same op? :D

Bump to see if anyone had a great condition VO cab they could take hi res pics of the side art on and who I could contact to have a custom done on these (just for me if nobody else is in). I have yet to see a Virtual On with INTACT decals (a good chunk I've seen have NO decals at all!) and it definitely deserves some. Since they're thick sticker material and can't be stenciled on I'm getting kind of desperate. Thanks.

But really, there are 38 people on KLOV who have one of these, surely someone else would like pristine stickers on them? XD
