So, I've done alot of looking around the net, and I've heard yes and no on this subject, but I'd like to talk to some of the guys on here that actually own these that might be able to help.

Will the japanese ac adapter for the virtual boy work in a us version or wont it? I bought a VB with just the head unit and controller, and desperately want to test it out, but cant see coughing up thirty or forty dollars for one. Anyone had experience with the japanese adapter?

From what I know the Japanese Virtual Boy battery adapter is the same as the American version. It's just a plastic shell that has connects that go from the plugged in SNES AC adapter to the Virtual Boy. I have the American version.

Thats my understanding too, I've just read where ppl have said they will not work with american versions, but I find that hard to believe...

YES... they will work...

The AC adapter is the same as the SNES. Which is the same as the Super Famicom.

When I went to Japan, I picked up a few of Nintendo's various systems, and aside from the original Famicom, they pretty much all use the same adapters as their US counterparts

cool, I figured so, I was gonna use an snes adapter, but was going to purchase the japanese piece that fits on the back of the controller and allows the ac plug to connect, and several websites claimed they would work only with japan stuff

The Super Famicom and Famicom use the same power power adapters that are different from both NES and SNES.

The power packs/controllers for the VB are interchangeable from US to Japan versions. I have a complete version of both, got the one from a friend who is Japanese. You can use a Genesis 1 power supply for the jp adapter for the VB.

You're right... I had to double check my SFC.

Sorry if it caused any confusion... but the VB power supply should be the same, so I guess that doesen't change.

There was something else, but I forget... carry on.
