Virtua Fighter- why do I get ring out most of the time?

I have a Virtua Fighter that seems to work well after replacing the power supply.
It does have some audio static, but is understandable.
The game plays normal, but sometimes the character will slide by itself off the play area and then it will say "Ring Out."
If I am fighting and lots of times my character or the CPU will out of nowhere get off the playfield and get ring out, no matter how much you try to run the other way.

I notice there are some big PCBs in this thing. My new power supply might not have the same amps as the original, could that be an issue? Should I try reseating the ROM chips ??

Since I think it has a standard/medium res monitor, maybe I should just turn it into a 19 in 1.

It's a software issue as it does it no matter which side.
Sometimes I'm in the middle of the ring fighting and all of a sudden I am way out of bounds. Definitely a glitch.

Defintely sounds like a ram error to me. I would check your +5V, if you have any fluctuation in voltage it can cause a undesired shift in ram which results in funky things like graphics disappearing and strange effects in gameplay. Also check the wiring harness going to the filter board for bad connections. Open the cage, re-seat the game board into the filter board and all connectors. You may have to zap the ram in the end but I don't know the location for the jump on a model 1 off hand.
