I had a VC3 that worked fine one day, put it in the lunch room at work and 2 days later the convergence on the screen was completely messed up. I checked the convergence rings and the yoke and everything seems tight/glued and fine. I am starting to think it is a chassis issue but that is isn't the reason I started this thread.
I bought another VC3 cabinet for spare parts and the flipped the monitor from the new cabinet to the one at work. The game booted fine and I went into the test menu to set it on free play and turn the attract messages off. I must have accidently changed the cabinet type because I remember seeing it say deluxe and thought that was odd as it is a standard cabinet with VGA monitor instead of the deluxe with the projection TV.
After resetting the game I now get error 51 - Horizontal frequency not correct something something. I assume this is because the cabinet type is incorrect. I also verifed that the bad monitor in the parts cab is set up as Standard cab. Thinking I got this figured out I came to work today thinking easy fix - switch cabinet type but now I can't get into the game test. I can get into the test menu and test everything else but where the VC3 game test is greyed out and not selectable? ugh/
Any ideas? I tried to get into test at various times (loading game/testing game/right as it switches after testing/while the error 51 is up). It is always greyed out.
