After going back and forth on what other (gun) shooter to get for a route/site I have I settled on VC2 since it's a pretty reasonable machine to go after. I got it from LA and it was in pretty good shape. It was delivered yesterday after take a while to get shipped up here cheap. The guys I know that will ship me machines as long as it's not far from their normal route are really great. They just charge miles for any additional distance they need to go off route to pickup stuff.
It worked but the left gun was iffy. I cleaned up everything and adjust the monitor and then the gun started working. I also calibrated it.
The side art was just tagged on once side but a magic eraser took care of it. Mostly it was pretty intact. These are actually pretty nice lock bars. Maybe I'll leave them on. I typically hate lock bars.
It cleaned up nicely and I got the marquee working after changing the starter bulb. It took me a while to find the monitor adjustments for this Nanao MS8-26. The monitor happen to be in pretty good shape so I just adjusted it a little. The colors are great w/ just a little burn in. There are no scratches on the tempered glass also. I just went out and found a few of the missing metric bolts for it.
Tomorrow I bring a HOTD board to Ken Westerfield to get it caged and a filter board adapted so that it can be straight dropped into this machine.
I'm looking for a spare gun with an intact cable. I'm ordering the gun halves from Happ and will try to have both a Happ 45 set as well as a Sega Set of guns in use for this machine. Basically I want to use the route wear and tear on the more reliable Happ 45's.
It's no Rambo (my current fav gun shooter) but it is a great game. Being able to run HOTD in it will be awesome.
So far with the HOTD board i'm $500 into this full setup delivered)
