I just picked up a Virgin Mastertronic "Spot" in great shape with less than 200 plays on it. I'm trying to find some information on it, but I'm not finding much. I would like to find out how many were made, were they sold or just promotional? etc. I have a couple pictures attached.

Pretty cool. Have you opened it? Does it have a computer inside like Max A Flex or a regular board?

I think it uses the Arcadia Supersystem boardset which is rare as hell, it's kind of like the Sente system in that it was designed for quick swap-outs with a ROM card, other games for the system were Leaderboard Golf, which I have, Sidewinder, Road Wars, Xenon, and a bunch of others that are near impossible to find, some of which haven't even been dumped for MAME yet. Interestingly enough a good portion of the boardset is the motherboard out of an Amiga 400 home computer.

I have no idea if the game is any fun, but it's certainly rare! BTW get some decent pics of the cab and artwork for the KLOV database! :D

I didn't open it up so I'm not sure if it has a board set or a pc. I'm setting up tomorrow, so I can look inside then. Any idea where I could find a copy of a manual for it?

It doesn't have a whole computer in it with a case and keyboard, just the motherboard mounted to a metal plate connected to a few other boards, again assuming I'm correct about it being an Arcadia system game. If it is then I think there were two different versions (although I'm not an expert), one was a standard JAMMA and the other was a conversion board for Williams cabinets like Defender etc, so it has pins instead of an edge connector, which is what my board has. I have a copy of the Leaderboard Golf manual somewhere if that would help any, I've been meaning to scan it into a PDF file anyway for posting.

I don't know much about the system but I know enough to know it's definitely an Arcadia. Is this system cartridge based or daughterboard based (eg CPS) or what?

(this information was found in a Amazon.com ad)

This is an extrmely rare game, less than 20 were made. The main character is the 7up spot character. A two-player game similar to the classic "Othello." Players strategically duplicate or move their tokens in an attempt to capture their opponent's markers. Once the board has been filled, the player with the most tokens wins

I'm looking to trade my Virgin Mastertronic "Spot" for a game from the "KLOV top 100 list" The trade needs to be local to the Kalamazoo, mi area and the game needs to be very good condition.
