I picked up a Jack The Giantkiller cab...it has vinyl side art...the art seems to be wrinkled due to adhesive issues.

I was thinking I might be able to just heat it up with a hair dryer, dont want to risk a heat gun...and then get it to come off clean without stretching or ripping...is that the best way to do this?

Also...to put the art back on, what sort of adhesive should i use?

If I can get it back on there ok...should I put some sort of clear coat or varnish over it to seal it up and keep it from coming loose again or would that not be a good idea?

this is new to me, so...thanks for any help.

I've never found a hair dryer to be hot enough to do much of anything. If it seems to work, the adhesive is probably weak enough to be removed without heat. That being said, I was recently able to remove 90% of my ROTJ art without damaging it. However, although it isn't torn or stretched, there are visible "streaks" or waves where it was pulled off so re-installing would be possible, but less than desirable.

i think this one will have the wave to it as well...unless i can get some strong adhesive...which is why i was asking about the other one in that link.

I am going to give it a shot and see...not sure if anyone even makes the side art for this and the art on it now is really nice and in perfect shape, its just coming loose.
