Vintage Vault Arcade and Gameroom ~ Game Day (4/22/12)

Finally was able to do another gameday down in the Vintage Vault. We had a good turnout of 55 people. Enjoy the photos!

WOW...

This is AMAZING.. I am officially now giving up on putting together a game room, as this puts anything I could have put together to SHAME.

Kudos on having such a great place for young kids to experience the same magic we all had growing up. I'd rather head to your place than Chuck-e-cheese.. and they have pizza...

awesome set-up!

Great to see kids playing and enjoying as well... Is it hard to keep them interested in the old technology? What did they like best?

I have 9 drivers and they got the most play. The Simpsons and both Megatouches always had someone on them. Vs Super Mario was taken most of the time. Not surprisingly, the gun games VS Hogans Alley and Terminator 2 had a lot of play also. In reality, they gravitated towards games they were more familiar with. However, I was surprised that pretty much every classic game in the gameroom was played multiple times over. They were there for a 5 hour stretch so a lot of time to try everything out.

I first saw your gameroom before I bought the machine I have and I was pretty well fascinated. It was one of the factors for me to try to get into this hobby after keeping my cart collection for so long. I'm mostly impressed with your guests ^^

I'm now just gonna have to save up and get one game at a time as buying a car will do this to you...

PS: How's the Revolution X doing? I remember playing that back in the 1990s...

Let me first say this is very awesome of you to open up your incredible space like this.

This photo, however, is why i have an "adults only" rule for my pool table. This photo makes me cringe, LOL.

Great space, as I have said before. And agin, this is a very nice thinkg for you to do!

Thank you. Revolution X is up and running with a temporary LCD monitor while I get the chassis repaired.

I tend to agree, my table is an adult table as well. I don't treasure the idea of a pool cue sticking into the felt. I will let mine play when I play with them Them sitting on the rails is what will send me off.....

My Rev. X is down right now and the last 3 pcbs I got on ebay for it were DOA as well with leaky caps. I hope to get mine working again someday and pull it out of storage...

Where did you get the vs. SMB glass bezel?

My Rev X. had a bad sound board. After troubleshooting to no avail, I managed to find a complete working 3 piece set so now I have spares of the others. With all these bad Rev X sound boards, there has to be a failure point or failed chip on each one. No one has been able to track that cause down yet. Crossing fingers though.

Check for posts on Phetishboy on the forums about the VS SMB bezel. I get asked about it all the time. He should really do more runs.
