I'm looking for a vintage LM323K with a gold base. This would be found in a machine from the 1970s. I've attached a pic, and am offering a $50 bounty as an incentive for anyone who can find one.

Any particular reason you need one with the gold base? They still make that part, it's just a voltage regulator. It's not gold colored, but I'm sure it will function the same. Does the old version have a different current rating or something?

I'm working on an old machine (Apple-1) where this voltage regulator is visible. The old ones with the gold base have a much different visual appeal, so I'm trying to find one that looks right. But you're right, other than that they function just the same as the newer ones.

Ah. I see. I collect old computers too :) I'll check my stash o' parts. I don't think that that part would turn up in many arcade power supplies though - most of them didn't use fixed regulators. The 2n3055 was quite common though. I will see if I have anything.

Actually, that lm323 is used in Sprint II boards and other Atari boards of the mid to late 70's era that regulate the voltage on-board. I may have one at home, I'll check tonight.
