Hi. I just picked up a nice Vindicators, but it had very low audio that seemed to be missing some or most of the sounds. Now it's silent. I pulled the audio board, in there was some evidence of a mouse in the area. The board has some corrosion, and there is rust on the outside of the volume pot. Does anyone repair these? Are there other games that used the same board? I may try replacing the pot, but I don't know the specs, anyone know where I can get one?

Does your cab still coin up? The sound board also manages the coin mechs as both they, and the amplifier section need 12V. If it coins up then your sound board is still working but the amp has died, if it doesnt coin up then the board has failed, or is not connected to the main PCB correctly. My cab hadn't been powered up for years when I got it, the 6502 CPU on the sound board died after about 30 minutes, the voltages were fine, but as its a socketed chip its easy to swap in another to rule it out. With a dead 6502 the cab would not coin up so a new 6502 fixed everything.

Also worth bearing in mind that the "music in attract mode" option only actually plays music once every 15 minutes or so and it does it at the end of the 1st wait period, ie you have to wait 15 mins to hear the tune. I thought I had a Pokey fault and it scared the crap out of Mrs Womble when it fired up the theme tune for the 1st time.
