Videotopia is a traveling exhibit and it is in Wichita for the time being. Here is some more info on it...

http://www.videotopia.com/

I captured a video of the entire machine exhibit. I gotta say that a lot of the classics are there, even some rare ones, but not many newer games. I'm actually in the works to bring a few of my MK cabs and pins up there. Waiting to hear back from them.

Here's the video...(sorry it's so shaky. It's the IPhone's fault)

Pins at a Video Game exhibit?
Newer games in a museum?
I think you might have odd expectations.

Thanks for taking the time to make the video. I remember when they were here in the DC area several years ago -- went just about everyday. Waiting for them to come back! :)

When they were here in Dallas in the late 90's it was a GREAT show. They had pretty much all the major grails working. EDOT, Computer Space, SW Cockpit, Quantum, etc. Glad to see its still around. Amazed to see its still around actually.

Agreed, glad they are still around! I just looked on their web site and it was 14 years ago that they were in DC -- 14 years! Holy Cow -- it seems like it was just a couple years ago. I am getting old!

Glad you got a chance to get over there. I've been three times so far.

Yeah, it was definitely a good time. Got to play some of the classics that I've never been able to play in person on a real cab before. I know I made it sound like I was not happy in the video, but I assumed the selection would be greater.

I received a response on my offer and they said they are under contract for a certain number of games for the space. I can understand that and said no problem. Just wanted to offer. I'm easy going.

That's kinda sucky that their webpage, http://www.videotopia.com/ doesn't mention that it's currently in Witchita. In only lists places that it ISN'T (any longer). I never knew it was in Tallahassee a while back, or I very likely would have driven over there to see it...

This came to the VGXpo in Philly right when I got back into arcade games... I loved it, but really feel I could appreciate it more now that I've been back into it a few years. Unfortunately, VGxpo shit the bed and there really isn't a great arcade game related show in the Philly area (couple of great pin shows, nothing for vids).
