Videos from Amusement Expo 2010 (yea for new games!)

In case you missed out on Amusement Expo 2010, I have uploaded a number of videos to show off the new product at the show. This is the first time the AMOA and AAMA have come together like this and the end result was positive. New stuff to check out:

Pac-Man Battle Royale (already discussed here)

Deadstorm Pirates

Tank! Tank! Tank!

Go Go Grand Prix

Rambo in a new cabinet

Sega Racing Classic

Friction

Terminator Salvation

H2Overdrive in a new cabinet

Wheel of Fortune

NASCAR Team Racing

Pump It Up Pro 2 & Fiesta

Razing Storm in a new cabinet

The Grip Strength

Stomper DLX

Panic Museum

and more.

I have uploaded videos of all this stuff to my youtube page ( http://www.youtube.com/user/theatarian ) and got into more depth on ArcadeHeroes.com, if anyone is interested. :) While the arcade industry is far from what it used to be, I'd say from looking at this show we've got some nice content coming our way and I hope they can keep it up.

Love the Hummer and Harley game, are they still going to release the former even though they aren't going to make Hummers anymore?

Yes on Hummer, they released the standard version last month and that mini-motion cab is coming soon. It's actually a lot of fun, one of the more entertaining racers I played at the show but that's because I like to smash stuff up in my games. :)

That boxing game is just like the old Activision Atari 2600 boxing :)

I thought the same thing. Too bad the graphics are just flash and the windows cursor is visible in the center of the screen but if they can spruce this game up a little, it would be a great little game to play/buy.

This is great to see. Hell, I didn't even know there was an "amusement industry" still around to support a show like this. Thanks for posting. I actually hope I can see some of these games somewhere. That pac man cab is awesome!

Huh.. I was at that show on Thursday and totally missed Panic Museum. I might have to buy a few of those this year...

Thanks for the post.

Watching your vids reminds me how dissapointed I am with Sega. NOTHING new in their booth for years now. We didnt even stop by their booth because it was so disapointing last year. Rambo has been out for YEARS, Hummer... blah... Harley... blah Ghost Squad?? Again?? I think I'd be more excited about another Shinobi release.

Friggin idiots. At least Namco, Raw Thrills and a few others a re still trying to do something new.

I dont think Sega is going to be getting any of my money this year.

Matt

that 4 player pac cocktail looked like it would be great for a laugh.
just a bunch of driving games an gun games it seems though

I was there on Thursday too! I thought it was great show and there was lots of great redemption. Redemption/self redemption is where the money is at in our industry.

Yeah I'm not excited by Sega either. I was at least expecting a Let's Go Island playable cabinet but instead they had that lame preview.

What's really disappointing is they apparently have canned one of the more original releases in their line-up which was at AMOA last year, Sega Card Gen MLB. That was different at least.

As for everything being light-gun and racing games - that is still a problem but this is where I give Namco props this time around with Tank! Tank! Tank! and Pac-Man. There also was some music gaming there with Pump It Up and there is DJ MAX Techinka which I didn't get any footage of but it's a cool game. The problem is we need original content that isn't a light-gun or racing game to make a lot of money for others to take notice and start developing similar games. Right now, the industry wants to play it safe unless it's redemption.

That daytona usa remake is awesome! I wish it was affordable.

Actually Sega is saying that Sega Racing Classic is supposed to be cheap although I haven't heard of a price yet other than "it will be much lower than a standard racer", with standard racers going for $6000-$7000 then hopefully that means that they will aim for $3000 or less but I think my hopes are too high for even that price. They know it won't sell if it isn't low however as I really wonder how many ops will pay a premium for Daytona HD in a nice cabinet.

I'd be really surprised if it was cheap (still wont be buying any). ID4 was $15k PER SEAT two years ago, that's plain stupid.

I'f I had to guess I would be willing to say that Sega RC is going to be around $4.5k... Not a good selling point.

I agree with you. When I heard that they wanted $10k for Tetris Giant, I just thought to myself "You guys are out of touch". I won't buy any either for my place either, if I was getting a racer I was eyeing that 32" H2Overdrive or maybe the new online NASCAR.

Did you see that coin-pusher/ self-redemption game at Smart? I thought that it was an excellent idea, seeing how pushers seem to print money sometimes.

I wonder if sega and namco shouldnt make a line for home use. Tons of guys would LOVE to buy newer titles, but at 10k a piece, it gets insane.

They could make a dual head Daytona USA setup and sell it for 2k and it would sell by the boatload for people with gamerooms. They could just simply make special version of cabs without coin doors, or any way to modify the boards to accept any kind of money.

I dont know why they havent thought of that. I mean, the max I would pay for that twin Sega Classic Racing would be 2k. It would be my breaking point. For home use, it would be a perfect price.

Coin Op manufactures have NO USE for the home market. There's no where near enough money in it. Sega doesnt sell ANYTHING for $2k. Used, new three pounds of dust on it... Nothing...

Your forgetting about the coin-op distributors. They have to make something some where too.
