Not really much of a story. I saw it for sale on Kijiji, selling for more than I thought it was worth, sent the seller my offer and he accepted. I like John Trudeau's games and rarities so I nabbed it.
I bought two new springs for the upper roll-unders and they're too strong! The game rewards a player ('stops' a villain) for making 3/4 of a figure-8 from the bottom flippers BUT the ball is slowed down too much by the upper gates gate so it never crosses to the 3rd point/gate, inches away. One of the posts holding the gate has stripped the wood so it wobbles a bit too.
The pic is when I first brought QBQ home. You might notice the obligatory rubber blocking a broken section of the board (see left), rubber-less flippers and mismatched drop and stand-up targets.
Since then, all the proper ground mods, pop bumper board upgrades, flipper rebuilds have been done, all board capacitors updated and the CPU is like new with all the IC re-socketing I had to do to resurrect it. New yellow stand-up targets, new drop targets w/ decals, I already have a NOS plastic set, NOS manual and might build a fancy topper that I already designed. But it still needs a proper shop job.
