Just got the PCB serviced at Elektron Forge. made this video to show Alex what I'm referring to. The flippers are also acting as bumpers, making it nearly impossible to control the ball and obviously making the game far less enjoyable. I am thinking this is still a board problem, all the inputs are fine. Figured it couldnt hurt to seek advice here as well. What do you think is causing this?

It looks to me like the lower right flipper is working as it should and I also suspect a board problem.

Isnt there some sort of "motion" detector somewhere in the game? I wonder if its bad or needs calibration or something?

Hey Keith, I am 99% sure this is a bad bit in one of the roms. If you have a way to program EPROMs I can email you some known good images. Send me a PM if you want them.

The game actually "plays" in the video ram after the map is copied from the rom to the ram at the start of game. Collision detection is a simple byte comparison done by the CPU. Since everything else is working it would not be a faulty CPU, address or data buffer.

The only other thing I can think of is the nudge (space bar in mame?) that could cause some odd ball behavior. I can't recall if nudge works universally across the playfield or only on the flippers. Well worth 2 minutes of your time to test this in mame and double check the physical nudge switch on the VP.

Thats what I was thinking. Like maybe its stuck in the "nudge" position or something.

I have tried disconnecting the nudge switch alltogether, no difference. It seems to function as it should both in game and in test mode.

I don't have a rom burner but if you want to send files that would be great. I can pass them on to Alex and hopefully he can figure it out.

PM me your email address and I will send the Video Pinball ROMs I used as a baseline for creating the Tron VP 2.0.

I would think that Alex had verified the ROMs you have installed but I can only thing of one condition with a stuck bit in RAM *might* have impacted the play. I would love to put that faulty board on the FLUKE just to understand how the processor is seeing the playfield data.
