So, is there ANY Video Pinball artwork around ?

I think my CP could use a new overlay. The artwork itself is still very nice, but the edges of the vinyl are torn.

Side-art is still in good condition though, but I'm just interested if anything has been scanned in the past ?

I also wonder if the Irish version is any different compared to the US version. The only clear difference I've seen so far is the coin-door.

I have the original Atari films for this and Ive started screening the bezel on glass
also form the orginal films.

would you really want just an overlay or would you like to have it screened directly onto the metal panel as the orginal?

if you strip it paint/powder coat it send it Ill screen it.
Ill be saving this one over in France

Uhhhhh,

I'll have to check again, but I'm pretty sure my Irish one (Video Pinball, not Video Flipper) has an overlay....

That Video Flipper is VERY cool, didn't even know it existed !!
Video Flipper would be the "better" name for it here in Holland too, we call a pinball machine a "Flipperkast" which translates to "Flipper cab(inet)".

But I still prefer English instructions over French ;)

Yup, I was wrong !!

The paint is bubbling up on a rusty spot....

The black (base) paint is speckled, will it be possible to repro that ?

The layers of the artwork look very thick indeed.

To be 100% honest my artwork itself is in great condition, almost 100% perfect. The black area around it though has rust and crumbled away paint...

Are good scans available ? I can scan if needed...

[EDIT] I re-read and saw you have the original Atari films so scans really not needed ;) So you also have the films for that French version ? Were any other languages made ?

That would be awesome to have it screened on. Not sure how long it will take me to get it powder coated but I will get it to the shop to have it done.

I only have the US version.
and ALL VideoPinball cps Ive seen have all been SMOOTH FINISH and not textured
like say an Asteriods or LunarLander.

Not sure if the Irish, French, etc. cp art was any different since as you can see not much left on that one
also colors may be different whats yours look like Andre?

This is the panel I used for the VP2.0 project which was pretty beat
but its screen 3 colors (yellow. Orange, and Pink)
They are screened pretty thick so the black wouldnt bleed through the colors
theres no white base underneath like Asteroids/LL to help that.

No idea, but how much wear will it get in a home situation ?

The Berzerk repro CP's don't have it, and I wouldn't want it either....not original...

I made some pictures of my VP CP, uploading them now.

No offense Rich, but your picture colors always seem pretty off to me.

When I see your pics of the custom Puck CPO you did it's really not very close to the reality. Not to boast (is that the right word ?) it but my camera seems to do better at the colors...

Anyway, I'll post them ASAP.

This is the picture that shows the speckles best:

If you look closely you can see how very thick the colors are....

yep thats definatly textured.
is your smooth or textured Arc?

and yeah like I said the colors were screened pretty thick to keep the Black from coming through.
but you can also see on yours the screened lines arnt to clean beacuse of that texture
not too bad but a little bumpy.

These should hold up pretty well and the best part your hands hardly even touch it.
not the first panel to get screened on metal.
SI, SID, berzerk, Kickman...
just need to watch those high altitudes and atmospheric cabin presures and Im sure it will do just fine :D

color what you talkin about wills?
your pics are all different colors :D

O, and this also shows how durable (good) silk screening is:

This is 33 years old and it looks very very nice still....I only cleaned this with a magic eraser.

panels were screened with a baked on enaemel.
though proably more durable BITD than todays Enviro standard minus the lead in the ink.

yep thats definatly textured.

Yup, noticed that too. But that's stuff you only see on (macro) pictures like this...or maybe a trained eye like Rich's will notice right away ;)

B.t.w., I could really live with a smooth black CP.

I've passed that phase ;)

I thought about that it might also be possible to "touch up" the black area's only, as only those are rusted/damaged. But recreating that speckle is close to impossible (yes, I tried).

So rich, is the CPO for that French Video Flipper the same as the regular one ?

I also seem to remember there are two different Video Pinball bezel versions ?

This is mine:

that I dont know
and at first glance your bezel looks like mine
Ill have to check the part# and notes on the films on this piece to be 100%
on any variations.
but obviulsy the french bezel is alot different.
I thought maybe using the same art for his French one but changing the colors to match his red and blue might be intersting unless a pic or scan surfaces of that version.
