Took it in preparation of selling it but thought I'd give you a sneak peek. I know BP isn't highly collectible or sought after but I have yet to see another nice one intact. Looks good next to a Tapper :) One of my wife's favorite games but she's willing to sell it so we don't have to move it. Will be for sale in a few days.

Bank Panic, what an underrated gem from the golden age. Very nice cab my dude.

Nice! I played the Sega Master System conversion too, which looks accurate. Rare game!

This is a cool game. I don't remember it at all from back in the day but discovered it a few years back with MAME. Very fun game. Nice cab.

Awesome game!

I played one of these the first time (believe or not) at a mom and pop store that sold waterbeds! I believe they had three games - the ones I remember were this, Yie Ar KungFu and can't recall the other one...

Man, if you were closer I woulda snagged that sucker!!! Very cool game!

oh!

What were you asking for it?

What happened to 'soon'?

:)

someone pmd me and asked me how much. i had set a price i would be happy with, not knowing any idea of its worth/value i made up a price i thought was fair. he agreed to my price and we did the deal. if he wants to share the price he can :)

i'll be posting 7 or so games plus parts for sale soon :)

It was $500, which included a nos cpo. I thought that was a fair price for both of us and the max I could afford to pay. I still have to ship ($450ish), replace the monitor ($250), install wheels, power cord and locks ($60), powdercoat the cp and coindoor ($100ish) and possibly replace the tmolding and repair the lower front panel. I'll have more than $1k into it by the time its finished.

A friend introduced me to the game about a year ago and we've been having fun playing the pcb w/JAMMA adapter ever since. Bank Panic is always a hit at parties, garnering about the same attention as Zeke's Peak. My oldest son plays it often and I find myself whistling dixie while he's at it and I'm playing crazy climber. I thought the game only existed in kit form, so was very surprised to learn there was a dedicated Bank Panic cab and this one is in pretty nice shape and I like how it looks. Since its one of my son's favorites, I jumped on it. Not the ideal time to do so, but haven't seen one for sale, though I haven't really been on the lookout.

Dunno how many dedicated Bank Panics are left, but I'd be surprised if there is much of a demand for it, except mebbe by someone who really likes the game. Being released in 1985, It's such an obscure title.. That said, it truly is a gem of a game. I'll prolly try to commision a HSS kit for it down the road, even if I have to pony up for the entire run :D

Yes, I still can hardly believe you were able find a NOS cpo. How in the world were you able to find one? Did you have to search for a long time? How long did it take to find Bank Panic itself? There don't seem to be many dedicateds left. Thinking they all probably got converted. I'd like to hear the story behind that :)

Tom

it includes a NOS *unapplied* CPO (which has been scanned already) :)

Well, congratulations to the both of you.

It's not worth THAT much to me but it is a FUN game.
Me and the wife used to play it on MAME all the time. I got a PCB and put it on the shelf. Just never got around to making and adapter and putting it in a machine.

I'll always make room for cheap games though.

thanks kstillin :) it plays great using a Jamma adapter. I definitely recommend getting one. My only issue was the sound glitches out at certain spots (could be the adapter) and the simplistic graphics look kinda blocky on a 29" monitor. I guess the main benefit would be not getting Bank Panic screen burn on my Egret2, heh. A side benefit would be the dedicated allows for players to use either hand, but thats minor :D

Took me years of going to arcade auctions. When I started collecting, the wife wanted 2 games. Bank Panic and Tapper. I looked for idunno - 3-4 years and never saw one. All indications said the game sucked for operators and they were probably all converted. My hopes of ever finding a dedicated one dwindled. I setup an ebay alert and NEVER found one. Ever. Then, this one shows up at the arcade auction. I snagged it for more than I thought I would have to pay. (U kepot records of arcade auctions and I bet I could find the one I bought it at to get a purchase date)

I still had my Bank Panic ebay search running looking ofr other stuff when a while later the NOS CPO shows up. For some reason I think it cost me $47. Oh that reminds me - I have a NOS Bank Panic marquee too (also from the ebay search) that is the bootleg version (or something):

it still had the paper on it when I got it. I'll throw that in too if I can find it.

To this day I have never seen anyone else with another dedicated BP - I'd be surprised if you could find 2 other people that have one. (and BTW - I did find a Bud Tapper for the wife and we're keeping it).

I have one, yours is the only other I've seen since bitd.

That's awesome Rabidcat, I wonder if there are any other Bank Panickers on KLOV. I really like the western saloon (or vegas?) style control panel and the sideart and marquee are pretty cool. I don't recall ever seeing this bitd, but both of these Bank Panics must have been played a ton as the original cps are worn pretty good. Guess thats a good indicator of it being a fun game :)

Bank Panic was installed in one of two cocktails in a local watering hole/restaurant my parents used to frequent bitd. Great game.

... then they put in Tropical Angel which didn't last. Thankfully, they put in Rygar. Ms Pac lasted on the other cocktail for a good while.
