Video Game Price Guide

There isnt really a set guide. You can search for prior sales, or just list something as "Best offer" and see what comes in. Or just ask the question - tell people price check or interest check, whats it worth to ppl? In the end, value is whatever the interested party is willing to pay.

yeah, the prices are pretty spot-on, but still kind of full of shit lol

up to $3000 for fucking Journey? that game is garbage. other games on there, I swear, they're good just for getting parts cheap.

When it's a game you want, it all depends on how much your willing to pay to make it yours. Condition and scarcity are factors to keep in mind when you've been searching for a while and have seen what games are harder to find.

When you're selling, it all depends on the least amount you're willing to accept for it.

If you can't sell it after a certain period of time, consider parting it out if you need to get cash quicker. And you might do this if a game works but the cab is in really bad condition.

There are no real guidelines, but I'd say those are the basics and asking questions on forums. Just my opinion.

The price guide is pretty good, but not perfect. I don't think it's been updated recently.

If I could find UDOT's for $600-800, I'd snag just about every one of them up at that price...

"one guys opinion". hahahah, Jethrokiller always a douche and an idiot.
No not my opinion at all, its prices Ive seen games sold for and prices ive sold games for myself (personally). Including selling 2 Journeys for $3k and 2 others for $1800 (not as nice as the first 2). Condition is key when buying/selling games. I havent updated the site for a while, but I have a list of things I need to update on there.

"I think this game is a pos" has no impact on the price of a game. I think Twilight Zone is a pos pinball game, does that make it a $100 game? no it still has value and actual selling price.

That's just one guys opinion. It means nothing.

Except that it's not based on his opinion, but on sales of actual games. I'm not saying it's perfect or even good, but it's not "just one guys opinion".

EDIT: oops, eXidy beat me.

Exactly. Also, Ive stated many times before.. A price guide is a funny thing, prices vary in different regions and fluctuate depending on the time of year it is, etc. There is also a huge difference on collector pricing, craigslist pricing and retail pricing.

I try to follow game prices because it interests me in many ways and I buy/sell enough games to know whats up. All these prices directly impacts my sales/trades and purchases. Unlike Jethrokiller (uber elite collector), ive raided over 50 warehouses, been to probably 400+ auctions, bought/sold/traded over 3000 games (easily), not to mention craigslist, ebay and more. When I got into this hobby back in 1997 I became obsessed with it and spent all my time collecting.
