I'm taking a trip to the West Coast to visit my brother in Seattle and also driving south to my old stomping grounds in San Rafael/Santa Cruz. I got into the hobby after I left, so I'd like to visit some gaming spots.

Here's what I have so far, if there are any other jewels you know about, please add to this thread:

Seattle: Shorty's, Add-a-Ball
Portland: Ground Kontrol
Medford: some kind of Scandia-ish place, had lots of pins and batting cages
Santa Rosa: Scandia
San Rafael: Starbase
San Francisco: Musée Mechanique
Alameda: Pacific Pinball Museum
Santa Cruz: Beach Boardwalk

Thanks,
Marc

we go to seattle once or twice a year.
thinking about visiting Shorty's in March: http://www.shortydog.com/

Is this place still going and the pinballs well maintained?
would like to give the kids a really good pinball experience out in a real arcade setting.

If you make it to the far east bay, Phoenix Games in Concord has a killer line up of pins. Vitus in Oakland has some machines and a bi-weekly tournament (either Tuesdays or Wednesdays).

Here are the ones I know about between Seattle and west central Oregon that are, in my opinion, worth your time. I've left out many other locations that have only a few games or have only (or mostly) newer games. Still listed GameWorks though, as they have some great modern drivers.

Listed geographically from north to south:

Another Castle
(Edmonds, WA -- 17 miles north of Seattle)

Full Tilt Ice Cream (Ballard neighborhood of Seattle)

neighborhood of Seattle)

Blairally Vintage Arcade (Eugene, OR)

Out of those I have not yet personally visited Add-a-Ball, Funland Arcade, Stryker's, or Blairally Vintage Arcade. The rest of them I have visited very recently and the games lists on Aurcade.com are up-to-date. Games are maintained fairly well at all of the locations I've been to except B&I Amusements in South Tacoma, which can be a little hit or miss at times. Most of their games were working when I was there recently, and they have over 100, including a decent pin row. I actually saw a pin tech doing maintenance when I was there last, which was a first.

Also, there is a new classic arcade supposedly opening in Salem, OR soon that will have 100+ games when they get fully up and running. Don't know what it is going to be called or any other info. I just know that a couple of Portland Arcade Collectors (PAC) members are doing it and at least one of them is a KLOVer. Hopefully he'll chime in here.
