Vid Opinions

having read many of the original poster's threads over the last couple years, i would have to say go for the narration if you can make it conversational and informative. usually i prefer these types of videos without talking, but if done right it can be damn interesting. the problem is people who dont think about it ahead of time or dont know enough about the sunject to keep it interesting.

this guy's videos are awesome and a great example of doing things right:

the subject of this video is midway's EM haunted house game

Doing narration is fine, but the ones I like best are the ones where the cameraman (or an offscreen assistant) actually punches the play button and you get to watch the startup screens or the game for a few seconds.

Lets face it, none of this is james cameron material :) Do what you're comfortable with, but if you say OMG just one time i'm putting a case of eggs in my car and driving your way.

you know, jon, i've been putting some thought into your questions and have decided you should make a video with each option and put them all up, then we can just watch whichever one we like.

Production costs would be way too prohibitive!

:D

Actually...I think i am going to do two vids. A semi-quick music only one in a darkened "gameoom" environment and a more detailed "technical" version with the lights on...

I just have to get out there to do it... hopefully sometime today.
