I have a pacman cab that was converted to 1942. I cannot get the vibration switch to work. Also the test switch doesn't do anything when switched either way. I am getting 5v DC at both locations. There is a blue wire that actually runs from the vibration switch to the test switch (no current on this wire and it doesn't go anywhere else). I don't see vibration switch or test switch on a pac or 1942 pinout or Jamma for that matter. Any ideas? Help? Does a pac PCB have this option and a 1942 doesn't or something? I tried searching vibration switch and no luck. People just mention if theirs works or not or if they got rid of it. Nothing on how to hook one up or fix one. Thanks for any help, it's appreciated!

You mean that weighted switch on the coin door? That's the slam switch. It's to prevent people from kicking the coin door to get free credits, or at least deter abuse. Most games make some kind of loud noise when it's closed, or at least ignore credit inputs while it's closed.

You don't need it, and there may not even be a way to hook it up to 1942. I don't know.

The other switch, the test switch, may or may not be used for 1942 either. Jamma has a test switch pin (it's active when grounded), but I don't know about 1942 - most games like that just had a dip switch on the board for test mode.

I wouldn't worry about either of them.

Yes, the weighted switch. I thought it was supposed to reset the game / lose any credits already in there. What exactly is its use so I can be sure I test it correctly? 1942 does have a dipswitch I have used it. Is it weird the two switches seem to be connected? I know I don't 'need' them. I'd just like to get everything working, I'm a little anal. Thanks.

I had to wire my slam switch up too when I got my Pac. It should have three wires going to it. Two red and one blue. Does not make a difference on which terminal the wires go to, just make sure the blue is on one and the two red wires are on the other.

I have one red wire with 5v DC and 1 blue wire only. There is also a diode connecting the two. Do you know where your 3 wires went to? Did you see my other question about being connected to the test switch?

Also, 1942 and pac both have a service/test switch on the pinout. I will have to look into why this doesn't do anything.

My three went back to the coin door connector and then to the PCB. I dont recall one going to the test switch, but I'd have to look again.

EDIT: One did go to a coin switch. I have a post here, Ill find it and link to it to show you what I had.
