VGA output to CGA monitor - quality?

I asked this on another forum, but figured someone here might have done it.

I have a touchscreen CGA monitor that I want to output a PC program to (virtual jukebox software). Am I going to have picture degradation that is going to make it look like ass? Obviously I'll be using an ArcadeVGA card for the signal conversion....

Curious as well, working on a Daphne cabinet, good timing with the question.

Video quality is important, I'm a little concerned about lag as well, so... not to hijack, but if you respond to Mod's question and you wanted to toss in an answer to my worries as well, that'd be dandy.
