Got a question...

Got arcade and didnt power up til today i decided to clean thru the monitor and noticed theres chipped on the tube... Like a rock hit the windshield. Not sure if i sould goahead and see if i power up or i shall do treatment first? I can see 1/32 tiny crack among the chipped round but its not deep crack. I know tube glass is probable 1 or 2 inch thick. Its vga mobitor flat screen inside the bowling cab

Any advise wouls be appreciated

Impatient guy here i just f$ck it and turned on and it powers up fine and ill leave it for couples of hours to see if warm monitor will make itcrack later on. Will it blow when crack ??? Sorry if i ask stupid question :)

I am no expert but I saw if it's on and it cracks, you better be hiding behind something. Hopefully you won't be playing the game if it does.

i actually did went behind the arcade and turned it on and nothing happened. but monitor works fine...

i left it on for 4 hours and still playable and i played 5 games and hoped grim reaper isnt using this as fault!..

I highly highly doubt that will cause any issues. If that chip was severe enough to cause any issues, the tube would have already been destroyed on impact.

I bought a 35" mitsubishi tv new and they chipped the tube in delivery (2/3 up an 2/3 across). After a few weeks, they replaced the tv and let us keep the damaged one. We used it for many years in our ranch house(I think its still there), and never had a a problem. It did mess up the convergence of the tube, but a friend of mine put some magnetic strips on the tube and it got it to about 98%.

Sum it up, I think you will be fine to use it.. looks like damage is not in the field of view. I would not mess with trying to fix it. If you need to fill it, maybe you could treat it like a chipped windshield.
