Today's the day my dream came true. Ever sense I first heard of Clay's Multi Sega I have dreamed of having all the Sega G80 games all in one cabinet and playable without having to change speech and sound boards.
Thanks to Mike at Vector Labs the dream is now reality. A true G80 Sega multigame is now in the House. I have had the kit for a couple weeks but wanted to make a video documenting Clay's Sega Multigame before I un installed it. I started installing the Vector Labs G80 multigame yesterday and except for one small glitch, a new Z80A chip I put in the new board turned out to be bad, everything else went without a hitch. As of last night I had the Vector Labs CPU board running so today all I had to do was modify the 3 sound boards and finish the install. I took video documenting each step during the install and hope to put together a video for the install. I have put together a video demo of the game in action.
All I can say is if you have a Sega G80 game or plain on getting one some day then you need this kit. It is the real deal and a truly amazing multigame kit. Even if you don't have all 3 sound boards don't fear, soon Vector Labs will release one sound card which will support all the sounds for all the games.
Just like to let everyone know I had never heard of Vector Labs until last June when I heard of this project over on the Vector List and I have only PM Mike a few times mainly to order this kit and I have no ties to this project other than having bought one kit. I have owned My Star Trek game sense 1989-90 and have had a Clay Cowgill Multisega kit installed in it sense 2001. So being a long time Sega G80 Star Trek game owner I can tell you this multigame is a must have for anyone with a G80 game or anyone planning to buy one in the future. Get the kit now, you wont be disappointed. It truly is an amazing multigame.
So here it is my video demo of Vector Labs G80 multigame.
Vector Labs,Mike, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Verry Verry Much.
I am A Fan of your kit. You are the new Vector Sega MultiGame King :hail::adore::dance3::thanks:

Great video, i am waiting for mine to arrive. I don't have two of the sound boards but I'm looking...hopefully the new sound board will be available soon.

Great post and video Sam, thanks for putting that up. I will admit that I'll miss your thread bumps. <jk>

I'm considering ordering one. I have a Star Trek so I have that sound board, and I also have a Battlestar sound board but I don't know if it works...I'd have to guess probably not, so I hope the sound board comes along soon.

Looks like a great multigame. Do I see a dumping of Clay's Sega multivector game in the near future...?

Great video! As soon as they release the sounds board I am going to
buy the kit. Right now I just have the star trek board.

If you like the video you will love the game even better. I had the Battle Star sound board for years but I just got the Eliminator sound board. I got it off Ebay untested but luckily it works.
Going back and reading all the Vector Labs posts it looks like you will still need the Star Trek Universal Sound board. Looks like the new sound card will be a Daughter card expansion replacement for Battle Star & Eliminator boards but only Mike knows for sure but either way I am sure it will work just like the multigame does. Dont forget their's susposed to be an upgrade for a high score save.
Still more good things to come.
Anyone thinking about making a Sega multigame control panel overlay, marquee and side art? We can hope- after all some thought they would never see the game.
You can get the kit by contacting Mike at Vector Labs. Just PM him, here's the link to the thread with the info.

Thanks for the video! :beerchug: I can't wait to install our kit... I just have to dig out the extra board set I'm going to use for it though. Man... after seeing this thread I may just have to take Friday off and have a "Sega G80 Day". :D

I don't have any G80 games currently, but I'm going to order the kit anyway and start looking for a machine to use. Vectors rule and this kits looks killer! Anyone with a Sega G80 game for sale please contact me.

Vector Labs Sega G80 Multigame limited run

This is a limited production run, only a few kits are left. So if anyone
else wants one send me a PM to order.

The MultiSound card will be available this summer, It will replace
all three sound boards.

Thanks,

Mike

These kits are for Sega G-80 cabinets. They are not for someone who just has the dedicated game like Star Trek, correct?

There was a very very nice complete dedicated but non working Star Trek for $50 on Craigslist last week. I didn't get a reply...someone got a deal...maybe someone will flip it.

Doesn't matter if it's a dedicated upright, cockpit, convert a cabinet or kit installed in any cabinet. If it's a Sega Star Trek SOS vector game then this kit will work. It works best in a Star Trek but can be installed in any G80 Vector game but you will need to install a spinner and maybe a button or two depending on the game.

I installed this kit in my dedicated upright Star Treka nd it worked just fine. Helped to develop the installation manual. I learned a lot about my G80 system just from installing this kit. If you have a Sega Vector, this kit will work.

Jon I responded on the other thread where you asked about this, but I was the one who got that $50 Trek. Its gonna get alot of love once I get the damn Cpu board working! He said he got over 30 calls on it and had to pull the ad. I was 2nd on the list after the first guy flaked out on him. The cab is mint he owned it for many years. But :( I want to play Star Trek now! And I sure as heck want this multiboard! Who does one go to for g80 boards or repair? This is one Im not too willing to wait on gettin fixed.

A cockpit Star Trek doesn't have a 'Player 2' button. Something different would have to be done to enable the switching between games.

Yea, hadn't thought of that but it's simple enough to wire up and add a player 2 button as long as you find a spot to install it. Maybe the old coin return button trick.:D

Here it is as promised the video I made as I installed Vector Labs G80 multigame in my Star Trek conversion cabinet. It's not intended to replace the install guide but is meant to be an overview of the install guide to familiarize anyone with the process involved before attempting to install this kit in your game.
I did this on the fly so you may find I used a few incorrect words to describe something like calling the CPU an MPU once and saying a wiring plug has red and white wires when clearly in the video they are red and black and I think I referred to socket pins as sockets but you will get the meaning. Even though it's condensed the video was still over 30 minuets long so I split it up into 3 parts and to most this may be boring but if you love working on electronics, especially old arcade games then this is for you. Hope it helps with your install.
