I just got off the phone with Wolfman (one of Dale's favorite people). He is trying to sell a 2 pod Virtuality setup. It looks like it is in good shape, it has been in storage for 15 years. Currently it is dismantled for storage/shipping. I asked for some pictures and got about 30 back in an email.

Virtuality systems were the ones that had the pods with padded rails that you stood in with a full VR helmet & this hand controller that did different things depending on the game. I played one at MGM Grand in LV. It was very cool. Unfortunately, he wouldn't take my offer of $500 for the whole thing :(. I don't know why. They were only $65,000 per pod BITD.

Edit: Here is a link that shows a pod in action (towards the bottom): http://www.arcade-history.com/?n=virtuality-boxing&page=detail&id=12509

I think 500 was very fair. While this looks cool it probably has a lot of game specific parts and that you'll need both to keep one running. The game looks neat but with the Wii boxing and Punch-Out it's a hard sell at 2500.

Personally, I fell in love with the sit down unit and the Mech style game for it BITD. This was definitely technology ahead of its time 15 years ago, hence a $60,000 price tag. As already stated Wii technology has caught up and picking it up would be more for Nostalgia factor than anything.

I agree, that's why I offered $500 (that and that's all I have in the budget at the moment :)). I thought it would look really cool sitting in my game room. It would be a real bonus if I could get one to work. Especially if I could upgrade the 486 that ran it to a badass dual proc AMD or something ...:D

With computers, SPEED THRILLS!!!!
