I have a cocktail with a jamma board switcher and 2 multiboards in it. (60-in-1 and arcadeshop) I was wondering if anyone could suggest a vertical jamma game that is not on these boards that would be worth installing. Controls are a single joystick and 2 buttons. Cocktail (screen flipping) capability would be a bonus, but not required. Suggestions? Thx!

vertical jamma i play often:

sky shark*
twin cobra
rally bike*
fast lane*

*ideal for cocktail. players alternate, screen flips.

Thx! Leaning towards Sky Shark (love the shmups). Fast Lane looks kinda like an updated Crash, which I have. Rally bike looks like a possibility. And Twin Cobra is cool--is it that much better than Sky Shark to be worth giving up 2-player?

If you want an AWESOME shooter, get Ikaruga. But for some reason I don't think you will like how much it would set you back...

i'd save TC for a regular upright cab, but i've always had a TC (in some form) in my collection for the last 20 years. i lucking fove that game, it's very well made. i bump up the difficulty and only award one extra life to keep it challenging. it beats sky shark, but not by much. sure, there are newer 'schmups out there but rarely do they strike the right combination of great sound effects, good explosions, energetic background music and great action.

oh and i remember them having consistently heavy cashboxes back in the day.
they must have done something right to keep that coin coming in, even ten years after release...

Ikaruga is super hard in my opinion just like Radiant Silvergun.. But Do Don Pachi, Strikers 1945, Varth, Battle Garregga, etc all awesome games.

Sky Soldiers.
Raiden
Aero Fighters

If your 60-1 has a trackball, you could roll with Us Classic Golf or Ameridarts.

That's true, but years ago I purchased a Dreamcast Jamma adapter kit, and the damn thing DIDN'T WORK! I suppose that I could hack the controls and come up with some sort of adapter to convert the VGA box output to match the arcade monitor.

Strikers 1945 is another good choice. There really is something special about Radiant Silvergun (which is a horizontal game) AND Ikaruga (Vertical). The fact that both games had limited distribution as arcade machines helps add to the mystique as well...

I have a kageki for sale if you want that.

.

To get a good signal out of a DC, you need to use a sync cleaner. I think you put it on the Composite video line(as opposed to the Composite sync line)

.
I can't remember exactly which line though. I only remember that one line works best for an Arcade Monitor, the other line works best for a RGB->Component Encoder.
