Vertical Hold Problem - Sanyo - Cold Solder Joints ?

When DK stomps , the sound of the thump , and when I tap the cab , it causes the monitor to loose Vertical Sync . When the sound is off it doesn't loose sync . Seems like maybe cold solder joints somewhere , where would you look ? Any specific areas ?

I've replaced :

Vertical Hold pot on monitor and adjustment pot VR2 on the DK PCB
Capped the monitor and replaced tr402 and tr403 .
replaced D161
reflowed solder to IC401

I've desoldered VR403 and tested it while I shake it a bit and the reading is steady , so maybe the pot is good after all ? Should I just replace it anyways ?

I don't have any insight, but I'm curious. Does the monitor lose sync when you thump the cab with the sound off? I'm assuming yes.

Yep , you tap the cab and screen will jump or loose sync and start to slowly roll .

Verify that you have re-connected the ground wire to the monitor frame.

Thats the one by the flyback that connects to a screw ? If it is its connected .

I might have fixed the problem today . I reflowed solder to many components that have to do with Vertical and also VR403 .

I turned the game on and had to tweak the V-Hold knob a bit and after that it hasn't lost sync . I've cranked the sound to really test it and tapping the cab didn't affect the screen anymore .

So far so good , but it has stabilized before and then start up again out of no where , so the true test is after a couple days of playing .

Thanks for everybody's help !
