Anyone really familiar with vegas 777 pcb please help. I bought a graphics card, security ,hard drive and boot rom for sportstation to convert my gauntlet dark legacy pcb to sportstation and play it in a blitz 4 player cab. I finally grabbed a cab to play the conversion in. When I power it up there is no game play. So I decided to put the game in test mode using the dipswitch 7 at u12 and it goes through a monitor test sequence and tests the hard drive, etc,. It says fail on the watchdog timer . Can you help me please? What should I be doing next?https://vimeo.com/192583906https://vimeo.com/192583989

Vegas boards are very picky about power. Make sure that it is getting 5.10 volts to the hard drive. Take the chips out and reset them. They also need to be in the right direction. The chips need to get at least 5.00 volts to work properly.
I think when I had this problem awhile back the sound chip was bad.

Hope this helps.

I changed the timekeeper battery tonight and it now passes watchdog timer during boot up. I get no error/fails. However, the board keeps rebooting and going through the start up in this video. A friend is coming over this weekend to test my voltages as I don't have a voltage reader.

You need to get a multimeter. They can be had for less than $10 or you can spend $30-$50 and get a pretty good one.

If you're going to be in this hobby you need one.

That's exactly what I was just telling my buddy. I've been doing this too long to not have a multimeter. I don't know how I've got by the last few years. I guess I've been lucky

when you're ready, my PSU guide will be there for you. ;)

inspect the JAMMA edge, if your +5 contacts are burned up then you're not going to get very far, unless of course you're adept at copper tape repairs. otherwise, follow the guide and carry out the necessary cleaning procedure. you can get away with 5.05 at the hard drive plug/roms, but don't go above. that's how the JAMMA edge gets fried.
