Vectrex sites?

I picked up a boxed one a few years ago. I come back to the system every so often. I'd suggest heading to console5 for cap kits and upgrades. Chopper the Dog even created controllers for it recently.

Hey all!

I recently re-discovered my Vectrex unit that a friend had given me many years back (probably about 10 years ago...maybe more) while I was rearranging some boxes under my pins. Also came with about a dozen original game cartridges and overlays, and the whole unit (including the control unit/joystick) is in great shape.

Turned it on...and it still works just fine. My son and I were having a blast with it the other night. Not bad for free :) .

Anyway, I was wondering for those folks who also still have and enjoy this great little system:

What are the best sites for any of the new games and/or upgrades/updates that I know folks have been making for the Vectrex through the years? I did some searching and certainly found some good stuff, but was wondering what else is out there?

Thanks in advance!

Jon

Not sure if it was mentioned but there's a vector gaming board out there that has a Vectrex section -

http://vectorgaming.proboards.com/

The Vectrex section sort of overlaps the AtariAge one (in terms of subjects) but they also had a lot of programming posts, too, if that's something you're in to.

He did my war of the worlds... awesome dude.. they are not as solid as rhe original overlays. They are flimzy. But they hold up and i think they are sctatch resistant.

Just what I was going to ask. I assume they are not as thick as the originals. Is that why they are flimsy?

Thanks to everyone for the input!

I'll be checking out the various sites listed for sure and figure out what I need to get :) .

I cheaped out a bit and didn't go for the box...none of the other cartridges I inherited have the original box so I wasn't married to the "necessity" of having a reproduction of the original box. ;)

Still looking forward to getting this!

$900?!? Whoa!

Glad I got mine for a better price :) .

More power to the seller if he can get that price!

Or is that what these systems generally go for these days?

Sort of connected to the multicart and Vectrex sites, I recently got this email from a Vectrex homebrew programmer (luchs-soft) -

Hi Retrolizers,
short news this time and only Vectrex related!

At the ejagfest 2017, I was asked about MENSCHENJAGD, so after 3 year of being in the Releasepipeline I've talked to John and we think it might be a nice X-Mas Release :-D
BUT the question is, who's interested in a physical and how many total.
I want you to write me an email [email protected] to let me know that you want a copy.

If there are many ppl who are into that release, we'll do:
1.Package: Box (original size), Manual, Overlay, Red Shell, Cartridge

if there are a few more than usual, we'll do:
2.Package: Box (original size), Manual, Red Shell Cartridge

if there are as much as usual or less, we'll do:
3.Package: Slimcard (packed like vecz)

If you don't remember MENSCHENJAGD, here's a Video:

VectrexRoli called it Berzerk on Steroids ;-)

Here's VectrexRolis Video about the game:

Cheers,
Sascha aka Der Luchs

I emailed him about wanting option #1 but so far he is only close to getting enough interest for option #2. If you guys like the Vectrex and homebrew games, please email him to let him know that you'd like a copy of the game with the box and overlay (option #1) so that we can get enough people buying to make it happen!
