Hey all!

I recently re-discovered my Vectrex unit that a friend had given me many years back (probably about 10 years ago...maybe more) while I was rearranging some boxes under my pins. Also came with about a dozen original game cartridges and overlays, and the whole unit (including the control unit/joystick) is in great shape.

Turned it on...and it still works just fine. My son and I were having a blast with it the other night. Not bad for free :) .

Anyway, I was wondering for those folks who also still have and enjoy this great little system:

What are the best sites for any of the new games and/or upgrades/updates that I know folks have been making for the Vectrex through the years? I did some searching and certainly found some good stuff, but was wondering what else is out there?

Thanks in advance!

Jon

I plan on getting one eventually so I can wire it to a 19" monitor and put it in a cab.

You probably already know of it, but atariage.com has a great section for it under the forums.

VecMulti is a good cart as it is SD CARD based (add more if you got 'em). Got one myself. Reasonable price too. Still available from Richard H.

I also like the psychedelic custom overlays you can find here and there. YMMV :)

AtariAge has a good Vectrex forum.

Check out this Time Pilot vectorized clone. Truly amazing ->

BTW, ideally this thread should be in the console section ...

Holy shit that time pilot variant is a must have. These for sale somewhere?

Love to pick up the multi cartridge...but the link to Richard's site didn't seem to show them as still being available?

Did I miss the "for sale" link? ;)

I believe used ones pop up on Ebay now and then. Don't ask about price though ...

Yes, navigating the Vectrex World is like trying to buy Uranium for your home reactor project from some cloaked dude in a dark alley downtown somewhere.

I sent you his email address. See if he responds. :)

Ive always wanted to get one of these but I think they have hit that point of demand where it would be more annoying then fun to try and get a collection going.

Like most console collecting these days I suppose..

I have one of the multi carts that you load via USB. Holds like 10 games at a time.

One of my favorite homebrews is Gravitrex. Gravitar clone, and it plays real nice using the buttons.

www.vectrexworld.com seemed to be a nice place to get ROMs and such.

Sean Kelly has a multi on the market right now.

101 games apparently...

I need to get my dead Vectrex working again...soon.

Damn, seems Richard's VecMulti cartridge is no longer made as of July 2017. :( (Glad I got mine back in Feb)

So, the OP's best option now likely is the new 101 game Sean Kelly V3.0 cart.

VecFever seems to be delayed too?

Yeah, looks like the VecMulti is officially retired. I've got the last couple versions of Sean Kelly's multicart, and 3.0 is both awesome and currently available. You can even get it complete with a box and everything.

Also, check out Packrat Video Games (http://packratvg.com/index.html). He's got some cool stuff as well.

Nowadays, most of the new homebrews are being sold through the developers' own websites.

Here's a nice site with some good links and resources:

Have fun, the Vectrex is amazing!

Try this guy Stephen Kray for custom. He is constantly making new ones. They are cheaper on Facebook Vectrex Fans Unite page. I just bought a few. They are nice.

In addition to home brews, which I need to start finding/collecting, I'm also really interested in custom overlays. I think I asked about this years ago. Yep:

Ditto. Emailed Stephen for some psycho overlays (as I don't do FB; actually found him on other forum). Good quality. Good guy. Better pricing if you don't do the transaction thru Ebay, obviously.

He did my war of the worlds... awesome dude.. they are not as solid as rhe original overlays. They are flimzy. But they hold up and i think they are sctatch resistant.
