It seems like a new company – founded by Flynn's Generation and Neo Reetro – has picked up the rights to the system and is launching a Vectrex Mini. It's even showing the prototypes off at Gamescom 2025.

Uses wireless controllers and an AMOLED display.

The team behind the Vectrex Mini has confirmed it will feature HDMI-out, as well as a MicroSD card slot that will allow you to load up more games – including the many homebrew ones which have appeared over the years.

A Kickstarter campaign is planned for next month, and you can register your interest here.

Damn, I love the enthusiasm for furthering 43 year-old technology, but even my original Vectrex didn't hold my interest for very long. I just don't see how a smaller screen and a weird little wireless controller that I will most likely lose in the first week are improvements? That being said, for some reason I still want one.

Totally agree. I wanted a Vectex so bad and I eventually found one. It was fun and neat while I owned one but that honeymoon wore off kinda quick and I sold it. Really cool system and history but I don't really regret selling mine. It honestly felt weird playing by myself as a grown-ass man. LOL

Mixed feelings about them making the 'mini' version. The original was already plenty small enough. This one is going to have the screen size of a large smart phone.

Looks like it comes with all the overlays, which is nice. $175 though? Kinda pricey... Would be nice if it supports 3rd party controllers while we're at it...

Again, cute and a nice tribute to the original, but too small for my pad. :)
I'll stick with the original, thank you very much.
Now if I only had a really good Vectrex multicart. LOL
