Hi, apologies for the cross post from another forum (jamma+). I put a quick video of my Space Duel/Vectormame cab up on Youtube in case anyone is interested in seeing it running. It's using a standard 6100, no zvgtweaking on a P3 500.

Cheers,

I wanna build one of these so bad... but I refuse to MAME my Tempest.... and I've not come across a Space Duel or any other "gutted" vector cab.

It looks nice.

So what your saying here is that you have a cab running mame on a PC using a wg6100 as the monitor and now you can run any vector game, as a true vector game? So you can play Star Wars and Star Trek on the same cab?

If this is true, this is something I need to look into.

Looks awesome! I want to build one myself!
Funny how this is old news and people become excited when the finally discover it.
There are no more ZVG cards being made and no plans on making anymore and this info is from a recent email from them. I have been tempted to post a wtb ZVG card in the WTB forum for awhile now. That's the only way you're gonna buy a card for at least another year or so.

In a word, yes.

For what it's worth, mine is in a gutted Star Castle cab, but you could put it in anything, I suppose. I think most people put it in a Space Duel cab because so many vector games use that button layout and there's plenty of room for a spinner.

Unfortunately, this product is discontinued, although there was some talk about a new USB version that would work with windows. Anybody heard anything about that lately? Zonn, if you're listening, I'm in for one, maybe two...

What about using an Asteroids or Asteroids Deluxe cab?

Asteroids would be ideal due to the size of the CP... but again... I refuse to destroy a working Asteroids (even though I have one right here in the `cade I'm trying to sell...).

Sure... I could pull the monitor and sell it and the PCB for some decent scratch... but I just... can't... do it.

Hi, I didn't actually MAME the whole cab :) It's still a stock Space Duel setup, all I did was build a harness adapter to plug into an ipac for the controls and the monitor. I also used the AR2 to amplify the sound from the PC, it can be reverted back to Space Duel in about 5 minutes, most of that time would be shuffleing cabs around :) Attached is a picture of the cab from the back.

Cheers,

DanP

Cool, thanks for the demo.

I know I'd definitely be interested in new run of those boards, usb or not. Oh well, missed out.
