Vectorbeam Warrior eBay

I offered $2700 cash before it went to auction, after tons of emails, Pms, and phone conversation before the auction started. Figured I would be into it somewhere around $3200-$3500 after shipping and repairs. Seller said his wife wanted him to ebay it. I was told it would go on ebay and that whatever it sold for is what the price would be.. Seller told me it was like a poker game and that I might even get it cheaper than my offer. Auction even stated that it would not be ended early... Talked to the seller after the auction was pulled. He said he had a offer that he could not refuse. Dont know what the offer was, I did not get a chance to counter offer.. Big waste of time..

Yeah but you know how it is here...people will not chastise him because he is a member here for ending it early, but if it was someone else there would be threads all over the place talking about blocking him and all that.

I'm not for or against it, he's got to look out for himself first and foremost, I just think it's funny how things work around here with "members" sometimes....some members people won't say a word about, others get chastised for everything they do..

When money is involved all bets are off.

I bet it was someone from here with deep pockets that got it. Just take a look at the list of people who wanted one of these on the VAPS listing...

Story is its going to the UK. Same place his other Warrior was going..

Wow, I really should have asked more for mine then.

Yea you should have sold it to me:D

I offered it up on the klov at the time. People seemed to think I was crazy asking what I did for it but someone took me up on it. I wonder if I could find that thread. It was on the old version of klov I think.

It pisses me off when these rare vectors go for thousands of dollars and
only a handful of people get to play them. That is one reason that I started
Vector Labs. I can guarantee that EVERY rare vector game will be reproduced
at an affordable price. Now, if we could just get someone to repro the artwork
and overlays. Anyone up to the task?

That would be quite the undertaking for stuff like Warrior. Just finding someone willing to disassemble their game for that purpose would be quite the task.

That's a great story about how you got the Warrior for free. I am sure there are games like that still out there, collecting dust waiting to be discovered.

I sometimes wonder how long these highly collectible games will retain these values though. It's all a question of supply and demand. I am not sure that in 30-40 years there will be that many people willing to pay this kind of money for a 60-70 year old black and white vector game. Every generation has its own nostalgia. I guess those of us lucky enough to still be around will find out.

Rich said he would be interesed in doing the art if we can get scans. Harness reproduction is easy, manual gives everything needed including wire lengths. Joysticks and inner art would be the bitch...

Check with Fury, he makes the repo Cinematronic games for the Vectrex. He has remade many overlays. I know it's not the same but probably a good source to start with, i bet he would know where to get the overlay made?

Do you actually belief that member or not If a ebay Item goes up in bid too fast or too high
it must be getting bid up or if the auction is ended early something is up with that I would say more people then not on the board are chastised here then any where else. I cant tell you how many times I have ended auctions early because I got a great offer in cash or trade etc I have asked a high price for a game and had people pm back saying I was nuts and sometimes it dont sell but most of the time it will for what Im wanting for it

It pisses me off even more when the common vector games are parted out.

and this next comment has nothing to do with Vector Labs but with the people that hate it when guys on here ask for offers. People on here cry about the auction ending early, yet if someone comes on here and says make an offer, they are run out of town. You guys that hate people asking for offers would be better off if they did it on here rather than put it on ebay where a LOT more people will see it. Too bad you can't figure that one out.
