vectorbeam space war monitor

i got a space war last week that's working ok, just some weird stuff on the monitor...seems theres a "hole" in the "black stuff" on the front of the crt...the sun and ships then have lines running between them...what tube do i need to replace the damaged one?

You need to turn down the brightness pot on that monitor ASAP.

The lines running between the objects are where the electron beam should be off.

It's on all the time because the brightness control is way too high.

The black spot is where the beam has destroyed some of the coating on the inside on the glass tube - that is gone forever. It cannot be repaired, only the tube can be swapped out for a new or used one.

so turning down the brightness should get rid of those extra lines running between the other objects? cool....i turned it all the way down and it has no effect on the brightness...i know it has a 10k pot under it...looks like it'll need replaced then
