Hi;
I am troubleshooting a Vectorbeam on my Space Wars and was wondering if there would be any problems with testing the monitor with the neck connector unplugged??

I am having a problem with the display, dim and fuzzy and both the brightness control and the spot killer do not work.
I want to adjust the HV but do not want to burn the CRT in the process.

I am leaning towards a defective IC7, any seconds?

Thanks
Jeff

Thanks for the confirmation.
I want to adjust the HV but don't want to burn the CRT.
I am going to replace IC7 as I am having certain problems and all have to do with the operation of that IC.
The brightness and spot killer are both not working.

just interested how you are going to measure the HV? Do you have the HV voltmeter?

I always wondered, that's all

there are 2 or 3 different chassis....vectorbeam/cinematronics...all are essentially the same, but the have the components numbered differently....this should help you out, unless the numbers on your chassis don't match these..if the numbers aren't right, let me know....the number that i use as a guide is the brightness pot...R111 or R91...

Thanks, I have been using the right pot but it has no effect and the spot killer is NG as well. I have been tracing out the schems and all my problems seem to center around IC7.
I am going to replace that and see what happens next.
