Wait... Sega made a Tempest? Lol.

Anyone that thinks it's ok to part out Tempest cabs will never understand my position.

Dude seriously, what's the deal? There's no reason to get personal. Rather than deflecting, why don't you try to explain your position.

And the Tempest cabs I parted out were done when I was moving, and were a last resort, and helped save many other cabs. All parts were reused in preserving and restoring other cabs. Every single part, including the cabs themselves.

I have a 100% complete, #s matching Quantum, but the cabinet sat in a warehouse and soaked up water like a sponge. The top, sides, etc are swollen beyond repair. No amount of wood hardener, resin, bondo, fiberglass would make it usable. I thought it was ideal for me, as the crap cabinet made it somewhat affordable.

Plan is to build a new cabinet, reuse the plywood bottom, the upper and lower rear pieces, maybe the monitor mount. I'd be retaining as much of the original as possible.

There are times when a complete cabinet has a completely swollen and falling apart cabinet. A new cabinet is perfect for this. It will never be all original, but the cabinet just becomes one of the new 'parts' in the project, albeit a large one, and the other parts stay together.

I have a Qix, a Centipede cabaret, and a BZ cabaret that are same way. Very rough, swollen up cabinets.
