Hi Guys

Qix is a great game, so I have been thinking lately, it would have to be a contender for a vector conversion

Does somebody know anyone with programming skills who might want to give it a go?

If it was done in Mame, then those with a ZVG Zektor could play it in using a color vector

Any one else ever wondered?

Anyone thought of other video games possibly capable of being converted?
:)

It could... but the number of vectors beind drawn would quilckly get out of hand and the TV would time out...

On something like qix, there's not really any way to manage the complexity and number of vectors being drawn...

Not vectrex, but...

It would be a lot easier to code a game for the ZVG. The interface is pretty simple... you pass an array of vectors (and their colors) to the framebuffer, and viola! They show up on the monitor :)

Wow, so are you the man for the job?

It would be great to have more games for the ZVG Mame setup.

Maybe even Missile command?

Believe me, I've thought about it. Would be great to have some new vector games to play... think of all the stuff you could do with modern hardware (wild 3D wireframe stuff). I have no expertise in sound whatsoever, though I think I could use the emulated Williams Sound chip in MAME for that (I love the Williams sound effects).

But, I have to finish the VM4W beta first... and the menu... and.... :)

BTW, have you tried the beta yet? You mentioned you had some questions.

Steve
