I've got a Cinematronics Space Wars I am trying to get running.

My machine appears to be an early machine as there is no LED on the CCPU board and it has the micro power brand power supply and the high voltage is built onto the video board.

I did some exploring on the video board last night and took off the high voltage cover and ound that there is a coil/transformer (voltage step-up?) wired directly to the flyback, looks it went to ground and blew (there is actually a price misising).

Any idea where to get that part? Should the flyback be repalced too and where to get one?

ALso, I understand these machines used at least 2 tubes, how do I tell which tube is in my unit?

I've attached photos of the video board and out a red box around parts that are blown.

Best,
Ted

The next chance I get I need to buy more of that unobtainium

Hi Mark, on the caps, can't read the value, but yah, the transformer connected to the flyback is toast, if you look at the photo closely a bit of the top right section is gone. I sourced another monitor and board that should arive next week, hopefully 1+1 is going to equal 1...

I understand you may be one of the few guys out there that can work on these boards, would like to hear more about maybe bringing them back to life.
