Has anyone pulled the trigger on one of these?

Any reviews, I can not seem to find anything indepth.

Don't think they even make them any more. I tried emailing them for a purchase a few months ago. No response.

Gone into the abyss with the 20pin IC tester.

OFF TOPIC: Has anyone bought and tried his CINE testers?

Pat9001 never made sense to me. You'd be locked into buying his per game adapter pcbs which would be $$$. Still the pcbs design was clearly quite evolved, odd to put in so much work then can it.

Read Douglas' boxing bugs repair thread, he just posted on it that he received the deluxe cine tester.

Well i enjoy board repair and would like a new tool to help.

I was hoping to start learning this one. It seemed promising....

I tried that and came up with many Douglas's, checked a few - NG, tried searching by Boxing Bugs and came up empty, hence the request......
No biggie, just working on a sound PCB that just won't shut up and trying to get all the info I can.......

The CPU exorcisor won't do you any good for your sound board. Maybe your game's manual has a good troubleshooting section for the sound board, I know Armor Attack does. What game are you working?

Boxing Bugs,,,,,, the sound board won't shut up.....
The troubleshooting section of the manual doesn't touch on this subject, (AFAIK) and I will need to take a better look after reading the schems again.

Audio board troubleshooting begins on manual page 6-1 (page 23 of the scan).

Are all sounds being played, or only certain ones? I'm guessing it's not all of them based on the schematics. If only certain sounds, have a look at manual page A-26 (scan page 99) @ U47/U48 or the ones directly from J2 (see labeled sound enable outputs) and look for a common denominator and work from there.

Thanks....
U47 looked funky, pulled and replaced with no change....
I get the same sounds with or without J2 attached....
Need to investigate further.
Thanks again
Jeff

Getting sounds with J2 disconnected seems to indicate the bad signals are on the sound board and not coming from the CPU. I'll have a better looks @ the schematic tomorrow. You should probably create a separate thread, plus it will be easier to find in the future if anyone else has a similar issue.
