I've looked all over but it's difficult to locate the -12 @800ma/.8a. Most are @300ma/.3a - many at @500ma/.5a. I can't find a @800ma. WIMG_0958.pngIMG_0960.pngIMG_0956.jpegIMG_0957.jpeghat are people using and where can I locate. I've been looking on eBay and Amazon and google, haven't uncovered anything yet.. I'll keep looking but I thought I would ask here

So thanks for suggestions but I've already purchased the replacement and was looking for others that also have and use them. I'm looking specifically for the supply they are running with the adapter.

Original linear supply for the WIN.
^This^
I went the route you did and replaced the G80 power supply with the VL. The audio coming out of the amp is too low and distorts somewhat. Rebuilt the original G80 supply and have been happy ever since. Your call but I to recommend rebuilding the G80.

Do you know what ATX power supply that used by chance? I'm curious what the -12 MA rating on your supply was. I understand you don't prefer the VL set up but I just looking for information on what others are using that are intact using them.. thank you.. I don't need a reminder that the original is better I just need to verify my boards are not the issue thank you

Unfortunately, no. The power supply I used went into a PC tower I built for a friend awhile back. Sorry I can't help further.

I found out the hard way that this adapter is only for vector games and not raster. Why that matters I do not know.. but I got through to Vlabs and they say it's not ment for my machine. So it's sitting on a shelf someplace.

i would suggest the original PSU the largest reason why is is the sound is off the game looses its bass

fact check me but iirc the raster and vector power supply is the same. the only difference is more parts are populated on the vector version. so vector PSUs can go in rasters but raster PSUs cannot go in vectors.

I tried rebuilding it. I recapped it reload. It was testing it, but for whatever reason it intermittently does weird stuff. I've had my game boards looked at twice and they say it's not the game boards that are the problem. It's your power supply. I've tried two different power supplies a power supply adapter I pin the hardness I reloaded the back plane of the cage. I cleaned everything. I tried everything. I have no idea how to fix this thing, and I was trying to find a reliable power supply just so I could rule out that in fact, it is the power supply Nobody around has one I can borrow and there is no alternative for this game

I'm pretty sure that is 100% correct in fact Matt J who looked at my boards twice used his Star Trek cage to power my boards with a monitor from another game sitting on the floor that was roster

This is Mike's response from Vlabs

The G80 power supply is intended for Sega Gremlin VECTOR games only.
I have not tested it in a Astro Blaster game, although there is a
small 8pin (555 timer) chip on the power supply board that simulates
the 60hz ac signal which is used by the G80 system in their coin
detection algorithm. If that chip has issues then it could affect
game credits erratically.

Weirdly enough one of the problems in my Game has when it starts to do weird shit it starts adding credits on its own
