I have my Vector Labs switcher installed and can not get it to switch between games consistently. The game will boot properly always. It will always switch the game, but the video will not always sync. I have tried to move to different slots on the switcher to no avail. I have also tried using switching power supply and did not make any difference.

I have the multiple connectors so I am using the edge connector conversion board.

What may be causing this?

What games are you running?

Different PCBs output slightly different video, so sync/brightness/position might not be the same between your boards. Running a multigame setup is an exercise in patience as you tweak the monitor settings for the best balance between the different boards.

I have a Donkey Kong and a DKjr. It seems to be related to switching from DK to DKjr.

What I thought was a switcher issue is now a Donkey Kong issue.

Make sure your Nintendo boards have the rainbow cables attached. You need them to bring power to the second board in the stack.

Sounds like you've got it figured out but as an FYI- I had issues using that switcher with dk, dk jr and dk3.

Ended up being a power supply issue that was causing the problem.

It is definitely a Donkey Kong issue. It appeared to be connected to the V pos on the board and the H center on the monitor. I then matched those settings on the other board. It seems to be switching now, but I will recap the original power supply and replace the pin to edge connector that I somehow damaged.

I have re-capped the supply and replaced the remote pots for the monitor board. None of this worked. I finally found the HHOLD pot on the main monitor board. I adjusted that to a happy spot for both boards and now it seems to switch consistently. The Donkey Kong board was the finicky one, but the board is fine.
