Please see the announcements section. The VAPS entry page is now online, and it will create a link in your forum posts. Note when you click on the link it may not work as the view profile page (and stats) pages are being worked on today. I'll work on view other people's profiles first.

If you find bugs or have questions or suggestions, please either post them here or if sensitive for any reason PM me.

I am noticing that when you go back to "My Entry" (after making changes), the previous changes/settings do not show. Either they are not being saved, or the edit screen returns to the default entry.

This seems to be the case only with the following setting.

1. Which name to use in my public profile.

For example, make a change to this setting, click save changes. Then go back your entry and the default radio button will be active.

I am unable to reproduce the problem you are describing, and I've tried setting each of the 5 choices both in IE and firefox....

I can never get it to keep the setting I choose. Here are the steps of what I am doing.

1. From the VAPS home - click on "Your Entry"
2. Change the "Which name to use in my public profile?" to: Display my IAM/KLOV/WM username (aka username on forums): KillerKades (username)
3. Scroll down and click the "Save Settings / Upload Photo (if any)" button.
4. The settings will show changed, but now click "Your Entry" again from the top navigation.
5. The setting "Which name to use in my public profile?" will be back at the default.

This is always the case for me. It will never show what I changed my setting to -- always reverts back to the default. Tried on a few computers with all the same result -- all IE8.

While many of us appreciate the Xbox Live Gamertag field, don't you think that if you offer this, you should probably offer a place to list PlayStation Network, Wii, and (to a lesser extent) Steam IDs as well?

Overall, I love the changes. I'm actually looking forward to updating my VAPS page now :) Just let me keep using some basic HTML to post images of my stuff and I'll be happy :) (EDIT: I just tried to add an image to one of mine that was missing it and it looks like the system now strips out some characters that might be code? :( [see attachment]).

I just noticed that I have the same problem as well. I'm using Firefox 3.5. All other options seem to save fine, but the name one always reverts back to the first choice.

I actually set up the fields for Playstation Network, but looking at the sticky thread in the chat about anything section it seemed like it was 99% xbox...

It's beginning to filter out some of the html so be careful... I'll have to revisit the whole image thing.

I'll look at it again, but I'm kind of stumped. I just went in with Firefox 3.5.2 and it is working fine for me. I just change display name to the 3rd option out of 5, and its working fine.

Update; Ok. I think I have it fixed. subtle error.

Yeah, that's true, but there are several PSN people here and plenty of Wii users. Just a thought for the future, but it's obviously not a priority.

Yeah, I noticed that (see my edit above). It's not that big of a deal, but I really liked being able to do that.

EDIT: I just saw your edit above, so you can probably disregard the below.

Weird. Is it possible you're working in a different environment than the rest of us that could cause different results? (I imagine not, but I do Support for a small software development company and this is often a common reason for differing results between those in Support and the system engineers).

Also, just to make sure it's pointed out a bit more - when you first save and it "refreshes" the screen, the option appears to have saved correctly (and maybe it has, but we can't tell since we can't actually access the pages right now). It's not until you click on "Your Entry" again that the option reverts back. I know that was in the steps, I just want to make sure it wasn't overlooked.

Perhaps this is a temporary thing, but it bugs me that - after I update all my settings about what name I want, etc. - it stays up there on top of the page while I edit my entries. Dunno if it should be on a separate "options" page, or whether it can be made collapsible, but it's annoying to have to scroll down after every entry.

Also, will there be a "Pinball" entry - perhaps as a generic "Pinball" with the actual title in the comments? Unless you can contact the organizers of www.ipdb.org to cross-reference their listings in some way.

And what about things like the 48-in-1, 60-in-1, etc multicades?

I agree with the scrolling, very annoying.

All of my pinball machines are on the list and I have a few rare ones...

well, mine was HUO before I got it. Hadn't been cleaned in years, so the ball swirl won't go away completely, but it's not that noticeable to the uninformed. I just have one switch left to fix, then it's going up for sale...

Yes, it is a temporary thing and already mentioned this in one of my posts. Game entry and options pages will be split it...it's just a function of finding the time and also I wanted to make sure everyone going in there was beat over their head with the settings front and center for a little while ....some of them (ie: privacy settings) are important.

Yes, there will be more support for pinball and other machines after the stats pages are cleaned up a little bit.

Multigame board sets... I probably should make a special entry for those things in KLOV/IAM database, then you can add them.

You might have mentioned this eleswhere, but I didn't see it.

I'm sure it's a temporary thing while you do your updates, but when I visit a KLOV game page (I used Popeye) and I click on the "156 VAPS members own this game" and the "12 VAPS members currently want this game", I get the page but it shows "no listings".

Also, while we have all the links to the Ebay auctions for those titles people look up, why not have something that says "VAPS members are currently selling 4 games and 2 boards for this title" or "No VAPS members are currently selling this title" or something like that, with visitors having the option of buying from us rather than Ebay or whatever? Maybe they'd need to register first in order to contact us, or it could just direct people to this forum so they can message us through the PM's so as to not clutter up the VAPS registry with tire kickers?

I thought it already showed how many Vaps members wanted a game and if any had some for sell?
