I'm not sure where to post something like this or even who I should PM.

This has been an continuing issue for me since I registered a few years ago, so I assume others have noticed this. Since I assume this is a known issue, I guess I'm looking for any info on when/if it will ever be fixed or if there are any tips on avoiding the problem.

This has to do with when you edit a game or entry in your profile. I can't seem to get any punctuation to "stick"... characters like ? ! & ' - and others won't "save" once edited.

A couple of years ago I managed to get them to stick (I have since forgotten how I did this) so after going through and editing my games today I noticed again that all my punctuation was simply gone.

It's a bit of a pain to try and describe a game without making it look like I suck at writing (which I do, but I don't want to be so obvious).

Will this ever be fixed... is there a work around?

Thanks for any info, tips or help. :)

As someone new around here, I've wondered about this too. Even the game names themselves seem affected. Why the absence of certain characters?

Post it in the suggestions area so moderators and admin can see it.

I usually work around it. For example - if searching for Q*Bert, i'd search for bert.

And you can always go to the KLOV page, get the number there, then go to VAPS and add it...

Well, actually, my assumption is that it's less of a conspiracy and more of an over-active filtering system. You'll notice the same thing when entering comments into VAPS.

The idea is (I believe) to filter out anything that could be used to alter the final formatting of the page (or even the underlying database transactions). Many website-malware things work by getting things like HTML tags into something that should only be text. These 'rouge tags' then modify the layout of the viewed page in whatever manner the attacker desires.

Same applies to the underlying database - if the user can enter something that can mess with the SQL command being used to put the user's data into the database, then the user can potentially over-write anything in the database.

I know it's not a conspiracy, lol... just being a pain like always.

I guess I'm not talking about searching for things... but when I added my comments to my own vaps page here:
http://www.arcade-museum.com/members/member_detail.php?member_id=385938

I can't write "Cruis'n USA" without it saying Cruisn USA... or 52"... or it's... or I'd. Of course there are other examples.

Can mods move posts?... if so please move it to the suggestions section. If not, I can post a request there as well and simply point it to this thread.

Good luck getting it fixed. Ive asked 4 times over several months to have my VAPS linked to my klov account and it still hasnt happened
