It seems that many people don't keep their VAPS profiles up to date. I'm sure many don't think of it, and there is probably a lot of dead info in there too - people who have sold off games or gotten out of the hobby, etc.

I was just wondering if it has ever been considered to set up something to routinely send out an email to members to ask/remind them to update their profiles or click "no changes". The member could opt to be reminded weekly, monthly, or whatever amount of time. This email could include a direct link to the user profile "your games" list page. Also, if a user doesn't either update their profile or click "no changes" in some given amount of time they will be listed as inactive or something like that.

I have no idea how easy or difficult this might be. It's just a thought on my part. Not sure if it has been discussed before.

gibbous got me thinking about it on this thread. http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=146030

Many moons ago, VAPS used to have their semi-annual (maybe annual) audits that required you to log on and review your entry in the database. I would receive an email asking me to do this. They also posted it on RGVAC. If you didn't update it I believe they would remove your VAPS entry.

I don't know when this went by the way side but it was a good reminder.
