Do as I say, not as I do.... this is a cross post.

It was posted in the announcements section where it will be readily available (and no comments can be added to it). It's also posted here so people see it quicker, and in case any one wants to comment.

In short, a very cool new VAPS feature...

I need to upgrade the ZIP database we are using... I discovered today that it lumps a bunch of cities in the same county together and thus it currently could be 10+ miles off on its calculations but at least it is relatively accurate for the purpose of 'near'.

All VAPS members...

Now when you are looking at a variety of reports and it shows a game listed 'For Sale', it will automatically show approximately how many miles away it is from you.

There is also a new report that shows the 100 nearest games for sale in the VAPS 'Trading Reports' section, though in order to have access to the page, you have to have provided a city/state/zip in the main account settings page (http://www.arcade-museum.com/accounts/settings.php ). Additionally, a few machines won't be included on the list as a few people have not provided valid addresses on their account.

Additionally, when you are viewing a user's game page, or an individual game page in VAPS, it will show you distance information as available.

gosh darnit - would be nice to have a worldwide distance calculator version that advise country+city distance, would buy it, arrange shipping, handle customs, do all the paperwork, and have it arrive at the front door with a dancing monkey too. :D

sigh. maybe next centuri. pun intended :p
