I'm looking for some advice as to what direction to head with my vapor trx.I've included a screen shot and this is all i get. the game will keep running a reset loop and this is the only thing that comes up on the screen.I'm fairly proficient at fixing pinball machines but video games not so much.If I'm going to throw some money at this machine i would at least like to throw it in the right direction.any help someone here can offer would be greatly appreciated .thanks,Rob

+1 for the hard drive. These things are VERY finicky on the hard drives, arcademojo on Ebay was selling a flash drive kit for Vapor (as well as other games). It's a LOT more durable, due to the fact there arer NO moving parts, hence much longer lifesapn and less concerns with moving the machine. Just a thought.

Thanks for the help guys.I already ordered a new hard drive before i saw your post for the flash drive that is available for these and some other games so hopefully it lasts for awhile.
I went into the test menu on it and did the drive test and it came up with well over a 1000
bad sectors and was still climbing before i exited the test menu. just curious but is there any particular reason why these drives are so much more fragile than say a regular personal computer hard drive?

2 reasons. They have a LOT more run time on them that your average PC. Think about it, an arcade game is usually on 12-14 hours a day (and sometimes 24/7 depending on the location), 6 or 7 days a week, for "x" amount of time. During that time, it warms up in there, and the hdd is constantly looping or running the program. And, reason number 2 is the "abuse factor". A minor bump when moving an arcade cabinet usually translates to a pretty big bump for the hard drive IN the video game. Usually, my rule of thumb is to remove the hard drive before moving the machine (if it's easily accessible). I make it a point to do that with Vapor TRX's, due to the fact that I have had to replace 3 hard drives in them over the last year or 18 months.

I got a new hard drive and installed it but it still does not want to boot up.any ideas what
direction to go in next?

can anyone on this board burn me new sound and game roms for this game?

Try fellow member toplessz. He is currently selling vapor kits. Sounds like the board isn't reading the new drive and a new boot rom is needed.

Yeah, if memory serves (it's been a while), I think you do need to replace the boot rom when you change drives, can't remember why though.
