I'm not sure if this is a monitor issue.. Maybe a sync issue? I have a vanguard that came with a flakey as hell 4600. I rebuilt it when I got it and it was always kind of close but not right. The top of the screen isn't square. I always figured it was the monitor since it had so many issues when I got it and figured I'd have another go at it when I wasn't frustrated. I've been fixing up the game a bit lately so was going to stick a nice rebuilt g07 into it and the problem followed. I tested the 4600 in another game and its fine. Really nice, actually. No matter how I adjust it I can't get the top square. Is this a board issue, sync issue..? I'm baffled.

Here's pictures of what I'm talking about and of the sync wires attached. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks!

Well, if you connect the G07 in the same way, that would be a problem as you would need to jumper the sync to the vertical pin also. Your 4600 may need that too.

Not sure if it will help you issue though...

Jumping the sync pins does not have an effect on the 4600. Well, it changes the picture but after adjusting the h hold as close as I can get it, to looks the same as before. I'll try the g07 with a jumper...
