... Mortal Kombat PCBs.

can anyone give me a ball park? what to look for with revisions? I know I have MK II, 3, & 4

MK 1 is the cheapest of the series. I see them listed all the time for $40- $50.

If I recall, they use a different sound board than MK2 (so you can't swap it with the MK2 you have) so be sure to buy one with tested and working sound board.

Well mk2 the latest rev is 3.1 unless you have a hacked rev and the usually go anywhere from $30-$80.00 with sound board. MK3 depends on if you have the original mk3 or the upgraded umk3. The original mk3 usually goes for $100-$150.00 the umk3 usually $50-$100.00 and the revision is not usually that important on these. MK4 Ive seen it go for crazy money. But usually between $100-$200.00 depending on the rev. everyone wants rev.3 and actually its the only complete rev to have.

I have rev. 1 for MK4 which was the original release before everything was done. No weapons, different characters, no finishing moves, no stories and no endings. I really need to get new roms burned, but it is so expensive.

That's exactly what I wanted to know.

I will check on the Revs tonight...

I always saw MK2 boards (complete with sound board) sell for about $60-80, but then some goofball here got ahold of about 8 sets and sold them all for like $35 just to get rid of them, so now everyone thinks they're all $35.

I think I'll hang onto mine until someone really needs one.... :)

I think the only mk2 board I bought separately I gave $48.00 shipped from ebay. But I check there regularly and $30-$80.00 is usually the norm for mk2 on ebay. You will see some listed for like $150.00 but they never sell.

here is some more info... My supergun decided that my controls shouldn't work anymore (on any of the controls), so I cannot test that until I figure out what happened...

MK2: Rev 3.1
MK3: Looks like its the UMK3, rev 1.2
MK4: Rev. 3

Thank you.

Got my test bench problem fixed... I was able to play all three games... MK2, has no sound, however. Any suggestions?

Did you install a sound pot? I have an MK1 T-unit (same hardware as MK2) and if I remember correctly it wouldn't make sound without the correct pot hooked up.

Mk2 did not used a volume pot. Even though it is a t-unit board. They put the volume control in the test menu. Just make sure you have the sound board hooked up correctly. Their is a ribbon cable and a power cable that goes to it from the main board.

Yup. I have the power cable and ribbon cable connected. LED comes on the Sound board. I increased the volume in the test menu, but still nothing.

The sound I have in my supergun is NOT amplified. I am assuming that if the MK 3/4 play sound, MK2 should as well? or were the connections different?

Yeah it should play if the mk3/4 does. Im not sure about the supergun setup though.

I lied. LED on the sound board is NOT lit.

Power seems to go to the board alright (+5, -5, +12)

Suggestions?

look on the bottom side of the board and make sure there is no pins bent and touching each other. That seems to usually be a big problem with mk boards.
